We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.
–Romans 3:22-23 NLT
I loved to go to church when I was little.
I accepted Jesus Christ into my life when I was 6 years of age. I loved to read the Bible and did Bible Studies with David and Jonathan Mailbox Club. My parents told me that I would sing the Bible like a hymn book. I loved to sing in those days.
When I started to grow up, I drifted away from God. I no longer read my Bible much anymore and I clearly was far away from God’s presence. I watched movies and listened to songs that in no way was God-centered or pleasing to Him. I loved that more than I loved God. I remembered I prayed at dinner time but anyone could be doing that.
When I was in grade 9 (15 years of age), that I watched a testimony from Bill Wiese. He encountered what hell looked like and feels like. He showed that whatever we are scared of, will be double in hell and that He never wants us to go there. That Jesus Christ, the Son of God, really loves us but it’s our choice. We as an individual need to decide if we are to accept Jesus Christ or not.
It shook me. I realized I was lukewarm towards God. The Lord says in his word, “If you are lukewarm, I will spit you out my mouth,” (Revelation 3:16 NLT).
Later that night, I recommitted my life to Jesus Christ and asked Him to come into my life. This time…all the way. I still go through problems in life but I know that the Bible is true: that God is with me, not far away and He continues to listen to my heart and when I pray to Him.
I am still learning and God is pointing me the struggles I have and I sure have a lot of them. He has been helping me lately about my own personal life and showing me where I need to go.
God is wonderful and I am so thankful that He loves me regardless of what I have done.
When we confess our sin, it’s a complete turnaround. Today is the day of salvation!
